Ordained a Redemptorist priest, Fr. Anthony Slane was accused in a civil lawsuit of sexually abusing a child at St. Alphonsus Liguori in San Leandro, California, in the 1960s. No further details have been released.
Slane also worked in the Archdiocese of Seattle and has been included on the Archdiocese of Seattle's List of clergy and religious brothers and sisters for whom allegations of a minor have been admitted, establish, or determined to be credible. He was also listed on the Diocese of Oaakland list in 2019.
According to media reports, Slane spent the last six years of his life in St. Clement Health Care Center in Ligouri, MO, and died in 2010 at the age of 94.
