Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Brother Anthony R. Parlangeli:
Br. Anthony R. Parlangeli professed his vows as a Marianist in 1963 in the New York Province. He worked in FL and Puerto Rico.
According to media reports, in 2002, a man said that when he was a 15-year-old high school student in Hollywood, Florida he was drugged and raped by Parlangeli on an overnight camping trip. The reports mention that Parlangeli said he was too tired to camp and rented a hotel room. There were drugs involved which caused convulsions and Parlangeli had to take the boy to the emergency room at the hospital. The police were notified and Parlangeli was arrested. Later, the charges were reduced to administering drugs illegally and he spent a brief time in jail. The events that took place occurred in 1971.
Parlangeli was transferred to Marianist headquarters in Baltimore where he also abused an individual. In 1994, the civil suit settled. In 1973, Parlangeli left the order and moved to California.
In 2020, Parlangeli was included Order's list of clergy with credible accusations of sexual abuse of a minor.
Very little is known of Parlangeli's activities within the church as the Archdiocese of Miami has not released any information about Parlangeli's assignment history
Parlangeli died in 1997.
