Elana Goodman is proud to dedicate her practice to the representation of victims of sexual assault in their pursuit of justice.
Elana zealously advocates for her clients by bringing claims against educational institutions, spas, hotels, religious institutions and other businesses and organizations for their failure to protect individuals from sexual abuse. She works aggressively to hold these entities accountable for the devastating injuries and damages which result from sexual misconduct and does so with a trauma-informed approach to these sensitive cases. A large focus of Elana’s practice is representing clients who were sexually assaulted during a massage at a spa establishment or while in the care of a medical professional. Elana has also represented clients in the pursuit of direct legal action against individual sexual perpetrators. Elana is committed to representing her clients not only in pursuit of their civil claims for money damages, but also in connection with their critical role in the criminal justice and administrative systems. Elana is committed to ensuring that these perpetrators of sexual violence are never again permitted to victimize other individuals. Elana has also been appointed as a Guardian ad Litem to assist with court approval of personal injury settlements involving minors.
Prior to joining the firm in 2019, Elana was a partner at a South Florida law firm in the insurance defense division. During her two decades with that firm, Elana litigated a broad range of civil matters, including lawsuits arising from sexual abuse and assault. Elana also litigated many other types of civil matters, including those involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, products liability, construction defects and claims of inadequate security or supervision. During this time, Elana’s litigation practice consisted largely of the representation of hotels, resorts, spas, condominiums and other premises owners.
Elana has achieved the AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating available for attorneys and demonstrates outstanding achievement, legal ability, and professional ethics. Elana is also certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a civil circuit court mediator.
