The Florida Department of Health (DOH) has issued two Orders of Emergency Restriction of License against Kissimmee, Florida massage therapist Robert Lindelof alleging that he committed acts of sexual battery upon two female clients in June 2016 and “constitutes an immediate, serious danger to the health, safety, or welfare of the citizens of the State of Florida.”  As a result of the Emergency Orders, Robert Lindelof is immediately restricted from performing massage therapy on female clients. In addition, Lindelof is facing felony criminal charges in Orange County, Florida for battery and sexual battery.

According to the Emergency Orders, Robert Lindelof’s sexual misconduct included rubbing his crotch against a client’s hand, touching a client’s vagina, and inserted his finger into the vagina of a female client.  The DOH alleges that the clients did not request, or consent to any sexual contact.  All sexual contact by a massage therapist upon clients constitutes sexual misconduct and a violation of Florida’s Massage Practices Act.

Robert Lindelof (License #MA70155) was employed at Essentials Spa and Salon Metrowest located at 1507 Park Center Drive #1K, Orlando, FL 32835 when the sexual misconduct is alleged to have occurred.  According to public records, Lindelof has been licensed as a massage therapist since 2012.The Department of Health is now seeking permanent revocation or suspension of Robert Lindelof’s professional license.

Sexual abuse attorney Adam Horowitz has represented numerous women sexually assaulted by massage therapists.  He stated: “Women who receive massages place great trust in their therapists. There are not many other situations in which a person would be undressed in a prone position in a dimly-lit room with a complete stranger. It is a horrific betrayal when someone goes to a massage for relaxation but gets exploitation. Unfortunately, the massage industry appears to attract an extraordinary number of predators.”
