Summary of Allegations Against Brother James Kline:
Brother James Kline was ordained a Marianist priest in 1932, who served in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. According to media reports, in 2014, a fellow Marianist Brother, Bernard Hartman was facing trial in Australia on child abuse allegations when one individual came forward to allege abuse at North Catholic High School in Pittsburgh.
After the Diocese of Pittsburgh sought information on other possible victims, allegations were made against 7 other brothers, including at least one against Kline. He worked at the school from 1940 until 1947. He also worked in Puerto Rico, Ohio, and Washington D.C. The head of Marianist Order apologized in writing to the Diocese and students.
Kline died in 1997.
