Brother William Kiefer was ordained in the 1950s for the Society of Mary, also known as the Marianists, a 200-year-old Catholic religious congregation of brothers and priests. He served in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. According to media reports, in 2014, he was one of several Marianists to be credibly accused of sexually abusing children at North Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA. Kiefer worked at the school as a librarian from 1956 until 1962. The Diocese of Pittsburgh confirmed that it received one allegation against Br. Kiefer.
