Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father George Parme:

According to the the Pennsylvania 2018 Grand Jury Report, the only information regarding an allegation against Father George Parme was found among documents detailing a civil lawsuit against the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Bishop Donald Wuerl and Cardinal Bevilacqua. According to the lawsuit, the victim served as an altar boy at St. Aloysius. In 1954, when the victim was approximately 13 years old, Parme fondled his genitals while he was getting dressed before mass in the sacristy. It was also alleged that abuse occurred in Parme's car. The abuse continued for one year.

The lawsuit contended Diocesan Defendants knew and/or had constructive knowledge of the sexual abuse of minors by a number of Diocesan priests, including Father Panne, and that such abusive behavior was a long-standing problem within the Diocese of Pittsburgh, having received actual notice of such abuse.

In October 2007, the victim signed a document releasing the Diocese, Wuerl, Bevilacqua, Bishop Paul Bradley and Bishop Zubik of all responsibility regarding the abuse. The Diocese agreed to pay a total amount of $1.25 Million to 31 plaintiffs in the lawsuit.

According to a list maintained by Bishop Accountability.org, Father George Parme was accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy on at least three occasions from approximately 1958 to 1959. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father Parme was assigned to Most Holy Name Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the boy served as an altar boy at the church. The alleged abuse occurred in Father Parme's car and inside Most Holy Name Church. Father Parme reportedly reached into the boy's pants and fondled the boy's penis and testicles, skin-on-skin.

The claim settled in 2020.

Parme died in 2002.
