Summary of Sexual Abuse allegations against Father William Killian:
Father William Killian was ordained a priest in 1935 and served in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. According to media reports, in 2002, a woman gave an interview to the Philadelphia Inquirer and identified him as the priest who sexually abused her as a young child in the 1950s at St. Richard in South Philadelphia. In a separate interview, a man told the reporter that Father Killian would dress him and other children in skimpy costumes and make them dance around. He even forced one girl to dance for him naked.
Father Killian’s name does not appear on the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s list of credibly accused priests. He was not identified in the 2005 grand jury report. He was also named in a 2006 civil class-action RICO lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Philadelphia that was later dismissed by a judge.
He died in 1965 as a priest in good standing.
