Fr. Guido Miguel Quiroz Reyes – Diocese of Harrisburg

Fr. Guido Miguel Quiroz Reyes, O.F.M.

Diocese of Harrisburg

Assigned in Harrisburg as follows:

  • 1975-1980 Hispanic Center (Lancaster, PA)

Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Guido Miguel Quiroz Reyes:

Father Guido Miguel Quiroz Reyes was a member of the Order of St. Francis in Peru at the time of his assignment in the Diocese of Harrisburg.

According to the grand jury report, in 1994 the Diocese of Harrisburg received information that a Lancaster family that since relocated out-of-state accused Quiroz of sexual abusing three of their daughters. According to diocese memoranda, the family met Quiroz in Lancaster and offered to allow him to relocate with them to Florida. He began abusing the girls in the late 1970s, and continued to abuse them after they all moved to Florida in 1980.

Law enforcement in Florida were notified of the allegations in 1994 after the women disclosed the abuse to their family.

According to the grand jury report, Quiroz died in 2006. The outcome of the Florida police investigation is unknown.
