Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Daniel F Millard:
Father Daniel F Millard was accused of abuse in 2004 when a female victim accused him of abusing her starting in 1957, from the ages of 5 to 13. However, because the victim is also Millard’s niece, the Diocese of Camden claimed that the abuse by the priest was a family matter, although they did pay for counseling for the victim.
According to media reports, the victim’s sister was also abused by Millard. The sister’s son acknowledged to a reporter that his mother told him Millard had sexually abused her. In 2020, the victim filed suit against the Camden diocese, however, the accusations could not be deemed credible because there were no other complaints in Millard’s personnel file and because of statements from his accuser’s relatives.
Millard’s name does not appear on the Diocese of Camden’s February 2019 list of credibly accused priests, which means that the Diocese of Camden did not believe that his accuser was credible.
Millard died in 1972. At the time of his death, he was a priest in good standing.
