Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Deacon Joseph J Prioli:

Dn. Joseph J Prioli is currently serving time in a New Jersey state prison after pleading guilty to a 2017 criminal charge of juvenile sexual assault. According to media reports, Prioli sexually abused a young family member beginning in 2007.

The Diocese of Trenton recently released a list of ordained clergy with credible child sexual abuse allegations against them, and it includes Prioli’s name. The Diocese of Trenton did not release any information about the allegation against Prioli, but it is presumed to be the same matter that led to his incarceration.

According to the NJ Department of Corrections, Prioli was released from prison on May 5, 2020. He is not a registered sex offender according to the State Police.
