Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Richard Milewski:

In 2009, an unnamed victim filed a lawsuit against Fr. Richard Milewski for sexually abusing him while he served as an altar boy at St. Veronica in Howell, New Jersey between 1984 and 1985 when the victim was only 13-years-old. The Diocese removed Milewski from ministry after the allegation became public.

Media reports state that according to the lawsuit, the unnamed victim claimed Milewski abused multiple students and young parishioners of St. Veronica, including several on a trip to an overnight spa in Poconos. The lawsuit described the trip as, “… chaperoned solely by Milewski… During this incident, Milewski had all the boys on the trip disrobe completely to play naked in the whirlpool tub.”

A second victim later confirmed that he too was abused on that trip to the spa. According to the second victim, Milewski pulled down the boy’s swimming trunks while “roughhousing” in the pool and proceeded to grab the victim’s genitals until the boy was motionless from the pain.

Milewski’s name appears on the 2019 Diocese of Trenton list of priests credibly accused of child sexual abuse. According to the Diocese of Trenton, Milewski remains suspended from ministry. He is believed to be residing in the Lawrence Township area.
