Summary of Abuse Allegations against Brother John Fabian Butler :

In December 2018, Brother John Fabian Butler’s name appeared on the Dominicans of St. Joseph Province’s list of credibly accused priests. An allegation of the sexual abuse of a minor was deemed credible by the order’s internal Review Board. The order provided almost no information about the allegation, such as the age/gender of the victim or Butler’s assignment at the time of the abuse, except that it was made in 2012.

In 2000, Butler retired from active ministry, but continued in residence at St. Dominic Priory in the Dominican Friars Center for Assisted Living.

Butler died in February 2003.  He was buried in a Dominican cemetery plot.
