Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Charles McCarthy:

Father Charles J. McCarthy’s name was one of eight included in a 2018 lawsuit against the Diocese of Rochester. Allegations again McCarthy had not previously been reported.

According to the lawsuit, McCarthy abused the plaintiff in 1965.  According to his assignment history, McCarthy was assigned to St. Andrew’s in Rochester from 1964 until his death in 1971.

McCarthy died in 1971, while still serving as a priest at St. Andrew’s Church.
