In 2012, Father Paul I. Cloonan’s name appeared on Diocese of Rochester list of priests removed from ministry between 2002 and 2012. He was voluntarily laicized, apparently after accusation of sexual abuse of a minor.  The Diocese of Rochester provided the public with no details about the allegation(s) against Cloonan, such as the age/gender of his victim(s) or his assignment at the time of the abuse.

Cloonan died in 2015.
