Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Vincent Panepinto:

In 2011, the Diocese of Rochester announced that it placed Father Vincent Panepinto on administrative leave from St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish in Rochester after it received an allegation that Panepinto sexually abused a child in the late-1960s.

There are no details available regarding the allegation, only that the Diocese of Rochester deemed the accusations credible.  The Diocese has not released any information about the allegation such as the age/gender of the victims or the nature of the abuse.

In addition to the allegation of sexual abuse, Panepinto was charged with theft of $10,000 from the diocese. The priest claimed he was being blackmailed, which is why he took the money.

Panepinto is believed to be residing in the Rochester, New York area.  He is believed to have been laicized by the Vatican in 2013.
