Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father John P. Doran:

According to media reports, in 2002, Father John P. Doran was accused of sexually abusing a minor in 1963, when he was at St. Thomas the Apostle in Phoenix. A church spokesman said the Diocese of Tucson was also aware of another potential allegation from the same time period. The abuse may have occurred in Phoenix, which was part of the Diocese of Tucson at the time. The review of archival records has shown that there was a failure to report the allegations made against Father Doran.

Father Doran founded St. Thomas the Apostle in Phoenix in 1950. He retired in 1990 and died in 1997 at the age of 79.
