Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Richard Ohlemacher:

According to media reports, Father Richard Ohlemacher was ordained a priest of the Crosier Fathers and Brothers. He taught at Our Lady of the Lake Seminary in Wawasee, Indiana, for sixteen years and at the Crosier Seminary in Onamia, Minnesota, for three years before moving to Phoenix, Arizona, in approximately 1987. He retired in 1992, but reportedly continued to help out at churches in the Phoenix area following his retirement.

In October 2002, Father Ohlemacher was one of eight priests removed from public ministry by the Crosiers for alleged sexual misconduct. The incident was at least fifteen years old. He is believed to have continued to live at a Crosier House under restrictions.

Father Ohlemacher is listed on the Diocese of Phoenix’s “Names of priests of religious communities who have served in the Diocese of Phoenix and have been laicized and/or removed from ministry by their communities due to sexual misconduct with a minor.”

Father Ohlemacher was a member of the Crosier Community of Phoenix until his death in July 2005.
