Jacksonville Massage Therapist Disciplined by Dept of Health Due to Alleged Sexual Misconduct

The Florida Department of Health issued an Emergency Order on August 5, 2019 restricting the license of massage therapist Anthony Nicholas Green in response to an allegation that he sexually assaulted a female client.  The incident is alleged to have occurred at Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa in Jacksonville, Florida.  In recent years, massage therapists working at Hand & Stone locations throughout Florida have been cited repeatedly for alleged sexual misconduct.

Anthony Green has been licensed as a massage therapist since 2014.  According to the Emergency Order, Anthony Green  inserted his ginger into his client's vagina without her consent during the massage appointment. The Emergency Order states Anthony Green's sexual misconduct "constitutes an immediate, serious danger to the health, safety, or welfare of the citizens of the State of Florida."  As a result of the Order, Green may not practice massage therapy on female clients.

All sexual activity involving a massage therapist and client is strictly prohibited in Florida.  Clients of massage therapists are placed in isolated, vulnerable settings where they can be subject to abuse by their massage therapists. Due to the potential for abuse that is inherent under these circumstances,
massage therapists must possess good judgment and good moral character in order to safely practice massage therapy and must refrain from placing their clients in situations that violate their safety and welfare.

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted at Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa or any other massage location, please call our office at (888) 283-9922 or send an e-mail to adam@adamhorowitzlaw.com to discuss your legal options.
