Fr. James Creaton was ordained in the Diocese of Elphin, Ireland in 1940. According to media reports, in October 2010, a retired San Diego Superior Court judge ordered the Diocese of San Diego to make public 10,000 pages of previously confidential personnel files of 48 priests who were accused of sexual abuse or had credible allegations lodged against them. Creaton’s personnel file was released as part of a settlement with survivors of clergy sexual abuse.

Creaton died in July 1964.
