Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Joseph Rossell:

Fr. Joseph Rossell was born and ordained in Spain as a member of the Sons of Holy Family. He came to the United States and began working in the Diocese of San Diego in 1953 and was incardinated there in 1954. He was transferred several times during his first few years in the Diocese. His final move was to St. Anthony in National City, California where he remained until his retirement in 1972.

In March 2007, his name was included in the Diocese of San Diego’s list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. No specific information has been found in reference to the actual allegations. In October 2010, as part of a settlement with survivors of clergy sexual abuse, the Diocese of San Diego released his personnel file.

Rossell retired to Spain in 1972 and died in June 1982.
