Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Thomas Moloney:
Fr. Thomas Moloney was ordained in Ireland to work for the Diocese of San Diego. Prior to coming to the United States, he spent his first three years after ordination working in the Diocese of Salford in Manchester, England, until WWII was over. According to media reports, in December 2003, Moloney was named in a civil lawsuit alleging that a minor was molested by Moloney at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Riverside, California in 1963. The age of the young boy is unknown.
In March 2007, his name was included in the Diocese of San Diego's list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. In October 2010, as part of a settlement with survivors of clergy sexual abuse, the Diocese of San Diego released his personnel file. His file contained a letter from 2002 written by a woman to the Bishop alleging that she was sexually harassed by Moloney at Our Lady of Grace at El Cajon, CA in the 1950s.
Moloney died in 1986.
