Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Edward Fraczkowski:
Father Edward Fraczkowski served in the Archdiocese of Denver. According to media reports, in October 2019, the Colorado Attorney General released a report of a special investigation into Colorado’s three Catholic dioceses and their handling of child sexual abuse allegations. For the first time, Fr. Edward Fraczkowski was publicly identified as a priest with a documented allegation of sexual abuse.
According to the allegation, Fraczkowski began spending time with the 9 or 10 year old girl from St. Michael parish in Craig, having her do chores around the rectory. Over the course of a year or two, the victim said she would “type” on the parish typewriter while sitting on Fraczkowski’s lap. He would fondle her vaginal area and use her legs to stimulate himself to orgasm. The incidents are alleged to have occurred from 1967 to 1969, at which time Fraczkowski “abruptly” left the parish.
The allegation was first reported to the Archdiocese of Denver in 2015. The allegation was never reported to law enforcement.
Fraczkowski died in 1978.
