Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Father Joseph McComiskey:

According to media reports, in 2002, Father Joseph McComiskey was forced to retire amidst an allegation of child sexual abuse that occurred while he worked at St. Edward the Confessor in Syosset, New York. The allegation was made to the Diocese of Rockville Centre’s sex abuse hotline and then referred to local prosecutors.

In August 2019, a lawsuit filed under the NY Child Victims Act alleged that Father McComiskey sexually abused a 16-year-old in 1976 at both St. Phillip and at St. James, as well as during a camping trip.
