Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Jorge Cordova:

In 2005, Father Jorge Cordova was accused of incidents of sexual abuse relating to a 13-year-old girl. The alleged abuse occurred between November 1992 and November 1993 while Cordova was assigned to Charismatic Renewal Ministries in Phoenix, AZ. His home diocese was Quito, Ecuador but he was on loan to the Phoenix Diocese at the time.

Cordova was later indicted on ten counts of sexual abuse and fled to Ecuador before he could be arrested. In 2007, Jorge Cordova was caught by law enforcement and was held in Spain awaiting extradition. The authorities ultimately determined that extradition could not be supported due to the age of the charges.

Cordova then moved back to Ecuador where Tucson police learned that he had been continuing to associate with the church. A warrant remains open in Tucson.
