Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Laurence Florez:

In early July 1993, a former altar boy claimed that he had been sexually abused and molested for many years by three priests, including Fathers John Maurice Giandelone, Henry Perez and Laurence Florez. After seeing the news reports on the allegations, Florez’s own nephew also came forward and reported that he too had been molested by his uncle. His abuse allegedly occurred when Florez was under treatment at St. Joseph’s Center after he left the priesthood due to “health problems.”

Florez’s name also appeared on the Diocese of Gallup’s list of accused priests in 2018.

According to the Diocese, Florez is now deceased.
