Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Richard Ahern:

Father Richard Ahern was ordained a Stigmatine priest. He was the director of a summer camp for boys, Camp Elm Bank, in the 1960s in Wellesley, Massachusetts. According to media reports, he was accused of sexually abusing at least four minor boys, both from the camp and from 1959 to 1961, while he was working at Our Lady of the Angels in Woodbridge, Virginia. The Stigmatines were reportedly aware of child sexual abuse allegations against Father Ahern as early as 1979. In 1988, his faculties were restricted. Whether he had access to children from 1987 until his death in 2001 is unknown.

Though he worked in the Diocese of Richmond for part of his career, his name does not appear on the Diocese of Richmond’s list of credibly accused religious order priests who are accused of abuse in another diocese.
