Br. Richard Pinke joined the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn in 1965. He was a full-time teacher for 42 years. He taught grades 7th through 10th-grade math and science at St. Anthony’s High School in Smithtown, Long Island. He also taught at St. Brigid’s in Bushwick, St. Francis Prep in Fresh Meadows, and Bishop Ford High School.

According to media reports, in September 2018, he was accused in a lawsuit filed under the NY Child Victims Act. Media reports state that Pinke currently lives in Our Lady of Angels Friary, Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
