Father James D. Loeffler was a Jesuit priest who served in multiple parishes in multiple states throughout the country. According to media reports, in February 2020, his name appeared publicly on the Jesuits’ Central and Southern updated list of Jesuits credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. It noted multiple allegations of abuse that occurred in the 1950s and 1960s. According to the Jesuits, the complaints were in his file and found during a review that happened after his death in 1984.
