Fr. Kenneth Myers – Diocese of Pittsburgh

Father Kenneth Myers

Diocese of Pittsburgh

Ordained: 1980

Removed: 2019

Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Fr. Kenneth Myers:

Fr. Kenneth Myers was ordained a priest in 1980.  He served in the Diocese of Pittsburgh and is known to some for his dedication to the return of the Latin mass.

Myers' name appears on the Diocese's list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abus following an abuse allegation made in 2019. No details such as the age/gender of the alleged victim or Myers' assignment at the time of the alleged misconduct have been provided.

According to the Diocese of Pittsburgh, the clergy listed on the list featuring Myers "have had an allegation of child sexual abuse made against them but a final determination has not been made regarding whether the allegation is substantiated. Their faculties have been restricted while their cases are in process. These cases may still be under investigation by civil authorities or under review by the Independent Review Board. A final determination will be communicated once it has been made."

In January 2022, Bishop David Zubik published a letter to the parishioners of Most Precious Blood of Jesus parish clarifying some of the facts underlying the allegation against Myers, which he says he authored following multiple inquiries from members of the parish.  According to Zubik, Myers was already on leave "for reasons of health" when the Diocese of Pittsburgh received the allegation that Myers sexually abused a child in 2019. Following an internal investigation, the Diocese deemed the allegation to be credible and stripped Myers' faculties to minister.  All the Bishop would say about the allegation is that it did not involved the Most Precious Blood of Jesus parish (or any parishes which merged into Precious Blood).
