Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Brother George Puello:

In 2002, three men filed a lawsuit claiming that Br. George Puello had sexually abused them while attending Salesian Jr. Seminary in Goshen, NY. One of the victims said that he tried to report the abuse to the seminary director (who went on to become Aux. Bishop in Boston) but he was dismissed.

The lawsuit also claimed that others knew of the abuse that was happening at the seminary and there were a number of other abusers within the seminary. Puello left the order many years prior and went on to become a high-profile member of the Westchester County theatre community. He had no restrictions and had access to children and young adults.

In 2020, Puello was included on the Salesians list of those credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor.

Puello died in 2019.
