Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Sylvester A Marsch:

According to media reports, in 2019, an allegation was reported that Fr. Sylvester A Marsch allegedly repeatedly sexually abused a 7-year-old boy while he was working at St. Matthias in Brooklyn, in the early 1950s. The abuse reportedly occurred while the boy was away at a summer sleepaway camp and also while on school field trips.

"He would call in you and sit you on his lap and ask you how the camp was going, then stick his hand down your pants and fondle your genitals," said the alleged victim. "I was a kid, you know. I wasn't smart enough to comprehend what he was doing really."

Marsch retired in 1977 and died in 1984.
