Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father William S Slavin:

In 2003, a lawsuit was filed against Fr. William S Slavin by a 61-year-old man who claimed that he had suffered ongoing abuse almost 40 years prior. Two years before, the victim said they told the Diocese of Albany about the abuse, and he was offered a $4,000 settlement. He refused and went on to say that the priest had taken him all over and continued the abuse, including places such as Canada and Massachusetts.

The lawsuit was dismissed in Massachusetts, due to the statute of limitations expiring.

Salvin died in 1985.

His name has been added to the list of “Clergy Credibly Accused While Serving in the Diocese of Albany,” which was released in November of 2018.
