Jesus Omar Sandoval – Diocese of Harrisburg

Jesus Omar SandovalAssignment History:

  • 2012-2016: Lebanon Catholic High School (West Lebanon, PA)

Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Jesus Omar Sandoval:

Jesus Omar Sandoval, a Spanish teacher and a Girls Varsity Soccer Coach at Lebanon Catholic High School in West Lebanon Township, was arrested for engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl on school property. The sexual abuse occurred over a period of months between October 2013 and April 2014.

According to the police's criminal complaint, Sandoval obtained the teen's cell phone number and began texting about school-related items. Eventually, the conversation turned into flirtations, according to police. The teen told police about visiting Sandoval's classroom after school hours and said they would kiss. Police say he invited the teen to his home via text message and phone calls.

Officials say they began their investigation after receiving a report from Pennsylvania's child abuse hotline, "ChildLine," in September of 2016. Authorities say a similar investigation concerning Sandoval occurred last year in Sept. 2015. Police officials stated that Sandoval surrendered to police in 2016 and was charged with statutory sexual assault, institutional sexual assault, corruption of minors, indecent sexual assault of someone under the age of 16, and unlawful contact with a minor.

Sandoval was placed on administrative leave in early September 2016 after the school, and police were made aware of the allegations and fired when convicted.  Sandoval is on the Youth Protection List of Credibly Accused Non-Clergy connected to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg.
