Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Brother Timothy Brady:
In 1988, Br. Timothy Brady, a Marist brother, was arrested, charged, and sentenced to prison for the alleged sexual abuse of three minor boys at Mount St. Michael Academy in the Bronx, New York, in 1987. Brady was the acting principal of the parochial preparatory school at the time of the alleged abuse. Brady allegedly left the school at the end of the 1987 school year and was sent to a Marist retreat in Arizona.
According to media reports, the alleged abuse was reported by school staff members who say a few lay teachers complained that they thought something was going on. The Sexually Exploited Child task force, an operation coordinated by the FBI and New York Police Department, determined that two priests had sexually molested three 14-year-old boys.
Brady became a Marist Brother in 1964. As of 2010, Brady was still listed as a Marist Brother on the Order's website. His whereabouts and whether he has access to children are unknown. He was last known to be residing in Arizona.
