Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Daniel Calabrese:

In 1992, Fr. Daniel Calabrese of the Archdiocese of New York, pleaded guilty to and was convicted of sexually abusing a teenage boy when he worked at St. Mary's in Poughkeepsie, New York. There were also reports that Calabrese was caught drinking with teenage boys and showing them pornographic videos while at St. Paul's in Congers, New York.

In 1993, the survivor filed a lawsuit against Calabrese and the Archdiocese of New York to seek redress for the abuse. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, five years' probation, one year of treatment, and 1,000 community service hours.

In 2019, a suit was filed under the NY Child Victims Act, claiming abuse of a child, age 13-14, at Blessed Sacrament in West Brighton in 1989-1990.

According to a Westchester court filing, in 2019, Calabrese, along with nine other defendants, was charged with abusing a 13-year-old boy while serving at Saint Joseph's Seminary. Calabrese was accused of taking the unnamed plaintiff into the showers at Saint Joseph's and performing a sex act on him.

Calabrese was named on the Archdiocese of New York's 2019 List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor or the Subject of Eligible IRCP Compensation Claims.

He was reportedly laicized in 2005. His current whereabouts and whether he has access to children are unknown.
