In April 2019, Fr. Edward Roos’ name appeared on the Archdiocese of New York’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. The details of the allegations, including when and where the abuse occurred, are unknown. In July 2021, a lawsuit was filed against the Archdiocese of New York alleging sexual abuse by Father Edward Roos at St. Joseph’s.

Roos retired in 2009 and died in 2015.
