Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Eugene Daigle:

Fr. Eugene Daigle, a Redemptorist religious order priest, has been accused of sexually abusing a minor while serving at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea in Fort Monroe in the late 1970s. There has been no information released regarding the victim’s age or gender. Fr. Daigle reports to. The Richmond Diocese claims it notified the Redemptorists of the Baltimore Province to which Daigle reports about the allegations. According to the diocese, Fr. Daigle is no longer active in priestly ministry. The Diocese of Richmond has not been able to get his response to the allegation but is proceeding based on the assumption that he denies the claim.

According to a statement from the Diocese of Richmond, they have not reached any conclusions on the allegations at this point but are beginning their official inquiry.
