According to media reports, Fr. John Dwyer was permanently removed from the ministry and had a laicization process pending at his death in 2020. He was publicly named on the Archdiocese of New York’s 2019 List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor or the Subject of Eligible IRCP Compensation Claims.
