Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Joseph I McGuiness:

Fr. Joseph I McGuiness was ordained a priest in 1939. According to media reports, in 2018, McGuiness’ name appeared on the Dominican Province of St. Joseph’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. In 2019, McGuiness was named on the Diocese of Columbus list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor.

Very little is known of McGuiness’ activities within the church as the Archdiocese of New York has not released any information about McGuiness’ assignment history. Information about the age/gender of his alleged victim/victims, the nature of the alleged sexual abuse, or McGuiness’ assignments at the time of the alleged abuse is unknown.

McGuiness died in 1994.
