Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Patrick H Martin:

Fr. Patrick H Martin was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in 1937. He had both an administrative role and a disciplinary role at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church and grammar school in New York.  He was known as the “enforcer” and the “dean of discipline”.

According to media reports, in February 2004, Martin was accused in a lawsuit of sexually abusing three altar boys in the sacristy at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Manhattan, New York. The alleged abuse occurred from 1955 through 1961 and started when the boys were at ages 10, 11, and 13. One alleged victim claimed there were more than 200 incidents over a five-year period. Two of the boys were brothers. The suit claimed other altar boys were abused, as well.

In April 2019, Martin’s name appeared on the Archdiocese of New York’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. The claims against him are eligible for the Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program (IRCP).

Martin died in 1983.
