Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Deacon Arturo Ahumada:

Deacon Arturo Ahumada served in the Diocese of Los Angeles as a layman who served on the staff at Epiphany Catholic Church. According to media reports, he was accused of child sexual abuse while serving at Epiphany Church in South El Monte in California. He allegedly invited two boys, aged 15 and 16, to his home for dinner several times in 2001. He then showed them pornographic videotapes and molested one of the boys.

In March 2002, Deacon Ahumada pleaded no contest to providing pornographic material to two boys and misdemeanor sexual battery against one of the boys. Deacon Ahumada was sentenced to one year in county jail, a 44-month state prison term, and five years of probation. He was also required to register as a sex offender.

Deacon Ahumada was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. He died in 2008.
