Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Gerald Faue:

Father Gerald Faue was a Benedictine priest. According to media reports, he was named in at least two civil lawsuits alleging that he sexually abused children at St. Benedict Church in Montebello between 1963 and 1968.  In October 1984, Father Faue was arrested for lewd conduct in an X-rated movie theater in Long Beach. He later pleaded guilty to trespassing.  He died in 1988.

In July 2013, his personnel file was released and included a 1985 letter addressed to him from a superior stating “you clearly have a problem” and encouraged him to seek help after he was accused of inappropriately touching boys on a playground.

In 2018, Father Faue’s name appeared on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors.
