Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father James Fitzpatrick:

Father James Fitzpatrick was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Dallas/Fort Worth in 1954. He was an extern priest who worked in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was accused of sexually abusing a child from approximately 1966 to 1967.

In 2013, the Archdiocese released his personnel file, which revealed the need “to remove him from his parish due to his sexual problems involving boys, making it essential to get him out of town.”

In 2018, his name appeared on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. His name  was also included in the Diocese of Fort Worth’s “List of Priests with Allegations of Semblance of Truth of Sexual Misconduct with Minors.”

He left the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 1967. He died in 1973 while vacationing in Santa Monica.
