Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Joseph Bell:

According to the Diocese of San Bernardino, Fr. Joseph Bell of the Benedictine Order was accused of allegedly sexually abusing at least one minor in the 1960s to 1970s in Indiana, Kentucky, and New York.

Bell worked at St. Peter and St. Paul in Alta Loma, California from approximately 1985 to 1986. According to the Diocese of San Bernardino, it was aware of the alleged misconduct perpetrated by Bell in 1985; however, it was not reported to law enforcement until 2006.

Bell died in 1987. He was included in the Diocese of San Bernardino’s list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse in 2018.
