Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Richard H Roos:

Fr. Richard H Roos worked as director of communications and information technology and as minister at a Massachusetts retreat center. He also served as minister of the Blessed Peter Faber Jesuit Community, where he collaborated on retreats for homeless men and celebrated Mass in prisons.

In January 2019, Roos’ name was included on the Jesuit’s Northeast Province’s list of “USA Northeast Province Jesuits with Credible Allegations of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.” It noted that allegations of child sexual abuse of a minor in the 1980s were received in 2001 and that Roos admitted to it, however, no action was taken. According to media reports, he was “restricted” from ministry in 2001 and “impeded” in 2019.

In 2021, Roos was named on the Diocese of Fall River list of clergy publicly accused of sexual abuse of a minor.
