Brother Dave Johnson was a Franciscan priest ordained in 1984, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.  According to an archdiocesan report, he was accused of sexually abusing at least two children from 1978 to 1979 at St. Anthony Seminary and another location. In 2003, he was named in a civil lawsuit alleging child sexual abuse. The case was settled  in August 2006. Three new suits were filed in the fall of 2009 alleged that Brother Johnson and Philip Wolfe abused three others when they were students at St. Anthony's beginning in 1979.

According to media reports, in May 2012, thousands of confidential religious files documenting sexual abuse among clergy members in the Roman Catholic church were made public. Brother Johnson's personnel file was among those released. It noted he was laicized in February 2001. In 2016, his name appeared on the Archdiocese of Seattle's list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. He had worked at St. George in Seattle from 1986-1988. His name also appeared on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles' 2004 list.

In 2019, his name was included on the Franciscans' Santa Barbara Province list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. It noted reports in 1993, 2006, 2007 and 2009 of child sexual abuse from 1978 to 1982, and that he left the order 2001. His name also appeared on the Diocese of Oakland's 2019 list of clergy credibly accused of child sex abuse.

As of 2016, Brother Johnson was believed to be living in Hurricane, Utah. His current whereabouts are unknown.
