Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Brother Sylvester Mancuso:

Br. Sylvester Mancuso was a member of the Franciscan Friars, who served in multiple parishes for 25 years throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and Arizona. According to media reports, child sexual abuse allegations against the priest were received in 1999, and again in 2004 occurring in 1961 and in the early 1970s.

Br. Mancuso was named publicly as accused by the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans, on the Las Cruces Diocese’s 2019 updated list of Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor, as well as on the Diocese of Gallup List in August 2019.

Fr. Mancuso died in 1979 at the age of 64 while residing in Arizona.
