Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Clinton Hagenbach:

Father Clinton Hagenbach was ordained a priest in 1961, who served in multiple parishes in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was accused of sexually abusing at least 18 children at two parishes in the late 1960s through the 1980s. He reportedly regularly had boys alone with him in his rectory bedroom in which he maintained a fraternity house like environment. He groomed his victims by plying them with alcohol, giving them pornography, ice cream, bicycles, and motorcycles, and taking them camping and go-cart riding.

In 2002, a civil suit was settled for $1.5 million and awarded to a man who said Father Hagenbach molested him in the 1970s. In July 2007, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles reached a mass settlement for $660 million for more than 500 child sexual abuse cases just prior to another trial set for mid-2007 in which there were 16 plaintiffs testifying against Father Hagenbach.

Father Hagenbach’s name was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2005 report addendum of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. He died in 1987.
