Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Francis Murphy:

Fr. Francis Murphy was ordained a priest of the Congregation of the Mission of Vincentian Fathers in 1930, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, Fr. Murphy was named publicly as accused on the Los Angeles Archdiocese’s 2018 updated list of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. The list noted a child sexual abuse incident by Fr. Murphy occurring from 1964-1965 was reported in 2008. The details of the sexual abuse allegation, including where the alleged abuse occurred, or the victim’s age/gender, are unknown.

Fr. Murphy died in 1970 at the age of 68.
